Q3 Target Audience for our media production, Evaluation

Our Media production would be suited for the age group of 25 and over. Because our opening is an psychological thriller the audience would likely to be an intelligent person so that they would have a better understanding of what the hell is going on. It would be more suited for women to like psychological thrillers, whereas men tend to like action thrillers!

For example:

Andrew aged 28, likes going out partying having a coffee in hes lunch break and also going to cinemas in his spare time, but also likes to stay up to date with hes movies like horror movies and action movies.
You may see him carrying a suitcase.
The things that you may find in hes bag is: a wallet, lots of paper work, an extra pen and business cards.
Here are the examples:

Q7 Evaluation on Technologies

Q8 Progression from prelim film to final film, Evaluation

for the final shot, i feel that it much better than the prelim shot , as the shots were more sharp and we had more variety of shots.
I feel that this shot could have been better in the prelim shot, as you could see the tripod at the back.
As a whole i think that compared to the prelim shot, the camera shots in our final film was more professional.

This is an example of a brilliant shot in our final film.

For our final film, the editing has improved from before, as we have used more quick and sharp shots and cut the unnecessary parts off. It is very clear in our opening, as the audience could tell when the character is having a flash back, as we have edited to have the flash backs to be in black and white .

The mise en scene worked really well, with the blood and by the character being tied up to the chair, it made it seem more thrilling and dramatic, were as in our prelim we didn't have much use of mise en scene.
The location of our final film worked really, as I asked for a few audience feedback and some people said that the location had a really good effect with the mise en scene of the water in the River Thames.
Location.

The sound effect has improved from the prelim as, we had a long thought about what type of sound would go well with our final opening of our film.
Planing and research skills have an important role to our production as this leads to a good film because, when you plan when and what you are going to do, you would have a good focus, and after doing some research, it gives you a good starting point, and it may inspire you of what to do next.
Overall I feel that our final film has massively improved from our prelim shot, because of the use of mise en scene, location and the fact that we have a better experience of the technologies.
I feel that our skills on the use of digital technology has improved, as now we are beginning to be more familiar with its functions.
Due to social networking, I have also learnt that you could get a wide range of audience to watch your production.
Overall I have enjoyed the experience of this production, and have gained more experience of what the audience like to view more. I have also learnt how the use the MAC computers better than before, as i use to be confused of how copy and paste, and also how to print screen. =)

Prt of Q8 Evaluation

Team work is very important, it helps when everyone works well together, adding idea's and helping each other.

Q4&5 Media institution that might distribute our product, Evaluation

Our media product is an independent low budget student video which will be released on the internet, which is embedded on blogger, and can be shared on facebook, and is shown to other media students on big screen. However our video may or may not find its way on youtube, and get more views, like how some media students have done.
It will also get 200 DVD copies release shared between all our peers, so it can be shared between other friends and family's.
Because of the internet, we have been able distribute our film, far more widely than we could of otherwise done and reach a bigger audience.

Promotion
Other examples media which could promote our movie is from magazines or newspapers, that is if we really wanted to push it to the mainstream.

Here is an example of another media students work, that has reached a wide amount of audiences view through youtube.

Q2 Representation in characters, Evaluaton

Our thriller opening was partly inspired by "The Stepfather", as the stereo type shot of the villains back, then a shot straight to the helpless victim.
This is A shot of the villain from the back in our thriller opening, as inspired by "The Stepfather".
This shot could represent the villain showing that the main villain has some sort of control or power.

Also the representation of a shot of the victim lying on the floor in "the Stepfather" was effective, as we decided that a leveled shot of the victim lying down unconsciously would look effective for the audience, as we (the audiences) can relate to the victim is in need for help.

A shot representing the victim, in our thriller opening.

We decided to add a shot with both the villan and victim together. with the mise-en-scene of the victim lying don on the table, and the villain just being there.
